Lactation

As a Lactation Counselor certified by The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice, I am trained to provide safe, evidenced-based counseling for pregnant, lactating and breastfeeding or chestfeeding families. I offer services to support your feeding goals from pregnancy through weaning.

Prenatal
I will meet with you to hear about your feeding goals and your family dynamics. We will work together to build a plan that will help you get feeding off to a great start. I will provide you with resources and support to build your confidence in your ability to feed your baby. I highly recommend attending a lactation class or scheduling a one-on-one lactation class that I offer (see services & fees for more information).

Early Days
In the first few days after birth while you and your baby are learning to become more efficient with your feedings, I can help with positioning, latch, supply and encouragement. We can also tackle any concerns or breast issues you might be having. I love to serve families during these early days because they can have such a lasting effect on breast health and supply.

First Year
I am equipped to help you with pumping or milk storage should you have a plan to return to work or school. We can work together to help you reach your longer term goals of breast/chestfeeding with a wholistic approach.

Challenges
Breastfeeding challenges can arise at any point of your feeding journey and they can be difficult and discouraging without proper support. I am more than glad to make a home or virtual visit to address any concerns or challenges you might be having. I will provide you with a full assessment to determine what could be causing the particular challenge and make a plan with you to address it and get you back on track.

I am also happy to provide services for people who:

  • Have decided not to breastfeed and would like help with milk supply

  • Have a desire to relactate (stopped breastfeeding and would like to start again)

  • Would like to breast/chestfeed but have not had a pregnancy (a partner or adoptive parent)
