Together we can make a Difference

With your help we can work to change the unacceptable maternal and infant mortality rates in the Memphis Community

The state of Tennessee has among the highest infant mortality rates in the nation. Shelby County has the second highest infant mortality rate in Tennessee. But, together we can make a difference in changing this reality. Continuous personal care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum changes this statistic one child at a time. My experience serving in communities where this disparity is most notable has uniquely equipped me to support women of color, parents placing their children for adoption, low income families, single parents, and unsheltered individuals.

My goal is for the majority of my work as a Doula and Lactation Counselor to be with people most at risk for both maternal and infant mortality. I will center my work on education, advocacy and continuous support from pregnancy to postpartum. Because this care is costly in time and resources, financial support from generous individuals like you is crucial. I reserve 5% of my income from paying clients to support this scholarship so that together we can change these unacceptable birth outcomes. Your support means that I can fill my work calendar with clients who otherwise would not be able to afford my services. It is a true joy to walk with people during their birth journey and I believe everyone should have equal rights to healthy outcomes.

Every penny of this scholarship fund goes toward covering the costs to make a difference. Once you give to this fund, you will receive occasional updates on the families that have benefited from your support. These updates will always value families' anonymity.
